Hard pivot to some puttering

Oh please do not worry fans and adoring public, I will return to mediocre baseball analysis. But baseball ain't all I like. So for today I am going to focus on a new pet project I decided to do. What is it (you ask with baited breath)? I am cleaning and fixing a Peavey Unity 2002 16 RQ mixer. Why am I doing this? 'Cause it's fun and I like learning shit. I can fix electric guitars well enough, solder at an average level, and have rewired my kitchen. I leveraged my signature overconfidence, willingness to fail, and low standards to figure out how to do those things, so if I focus those onto this mixer I should be good.      So not to bury the lead, right now the mixer is taken apart and the parts are labeled and stored...that's it. My next step is to start cleaning everything. Now back to the beginning. Why did I choose to work on this Peavey mixer? That reason is simple, it was cheap. For real, I paid less than $40 for the mixer on Good Wills website includi...

It's been a while...but on to bees pitching.

Well well well, look who finally showed up. It’s me, I finally returned. Things happened, nothing bad, so let’s get back to the mediocre baseball analysis. Oh but before I take a crack at the Bees pitching, the Bluejays just had a hell of a 6 th inning in the first game of the world series. They went off. Anyways, back to the Bees.              Well, what did the Bees pitching staff get up to in the 2025 season? They were hurling balls trying to strike folks out…duh. But in that effort they ended with the second highest ERA in the Pacific Coast Leage with a 6.29. Trailing only the Reno Aces. They were 6 th in both saves and save opportunities, which is nice I guess. The pitching staff ended the year with the most hits allowed this time beating Reno by 3 with 1516 hits allowed. Thankfully though Reno takes the most runs allowed with 1016 vs the Bees 959. They had the 3 rd highest WHIP and the highest batting average ...

Bees Again

Well, I’m back again, taking a look at the Salt Lake Bees. Since we last met the bees have played Round Rock three times. The results were positive, 2 wins and 1 loss and a new winning percentage of .435. They may still be in 8 th place, but I’m still “buzzing” with excitement for these two wins. As I promised last time I will be taking a gander at the specific batting and pitching stats of the team. So let’s get after it.              To start off, who do you think had the most games played as a batter? If you guessed Chad Stevens, you’d be correct. The 26 year old has batted in 112 games for the Bees. So Mr. Stevens batting in the most games, let’s look at their stats. They have a Batting Average of .289, On Base Percentage of .372, and a Slugging percentage of .488. A couple of fun facts about Mr. Stevens they have the most total bases on the Bees and 5 games played in the ...

Salt Lake Bees Check In

Welp, I think it is time to check in on the Salt Lake Bees, the triple A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels (of Anaheim). As I sit here today, 8/28/2025, watching them play Round Rock Express they are down four in the top of the seventh. Sadly, being down is not uncommon for this team this year. The Bees find themselves 8th overall in the 10-team league with a winning percentage of .433. Which is not ideal but it is an improvement from their first half performance where they were dead last in the standings with a .392 winning percentage. With 21 games left to play in the second half they are doing much better. They are sitting at 6th with a winning percentage of .491 which is kissing distance from .500. Though unless something changes in this game, I expect them to put another tick in the loss column. I’m of the opinion that winning is not everything, though it is definitely one of the most important things in a game. To get a little more under the hood of this team let’s dive i...
